Plug and Play VistA on Cache on Linux

If you attend the World VistA Community in Boston, I have sent a cdrom image (vistapnp.iso) to InterSystems for distribution. The instructions for installing the plug and play VistA are included on the CD image, but I am including them on my web site as well. In addition to the instructions for the plug and play FOIA VistA install, a log of the process is available for viewing the steps involved.

In addition to the normal FOIA VistA routines, I have run InterSystems fm2cache class generator to create the Caché classes for VistA. WARNING, some of the classes were TOO BIG and generated errors. These errors will not be present when Caché 5.1 comes out of beta, and for now they can be handled by editing the problem classes to remove attributes that are not needed. I normally export the class as a cdl file and comment out the unwanted attributes, then import the edited cdl file.

As time permits, I will edit the large classes, and make them available.

Installing Linux for Caché

I had intended to present a class at the World VistA in Cambridge, but due to circumstances beyond my control, I will not be there. I had promised to put the turorials on my site, so I am adding them as time permits. the following link will take you to the Linux install portion

Installing Single User Caché for Plug and Play VistA

As anyone who has installed FOIA VistA will tell you, Box:Volume pair plays an important role in configuring VistA. To run VistA from the PlugAndPlay VistA CD image I have made, it it necessary that the Caché configuration name be CACHE, and the VistA namespace be named VISTA.
